Bullying and Harassment

Bullying and harassment happen in many places and come in many different forms from making threats and releasing personally identifiable information to sending threatening messages and making unwanted malicious contact. We do not tolerate this kind of behaviour because it prevents people from feeling safe and respected on Quote It.

We remove content that's meant to degrade or shame, including, for example, claims about someone's sexual personal activity. Context and intent matter, and we allow people to review their experience with each other if it is clear that it is related to the job post or request for services. In certain instances, we require self-reporting because it helps us understand that the person targeted feels bullied or harassed.

Do not:

  • Repeatedly contact someone in a manner that is:

  1. Unwanted, or

  2. Sexually harassing

  • Threaten to release or release an individual's private phone number, residential address, email address or license plate number.

  • Call for, or make statements of intent to engage in, bullying and/or harassment.

  • Send messages that contain:

  1. Targeted cursing or

  2. Calls for death, serious disease, disability, epidemic disease or physical harm

  3. Unwanted or sexual imagery

  • Post negative character or ability claims, except in the context of reviews. Only in the context of reviews do we allow criminal allegations so that people can draw attention to personal experiences or offline events. In cases in which criminal allegations pose off-line harm to the named individual, however, we may remove them.

  • Post allegations about criminal or illegal behaviour, except in the context of reviews.

  • Post expressions of contempt or disgust, except in the context of reviews.

  • Post a job or request for services attacking someone with negative character or ability claims.

  • Attack someone based on their religion, sexual orientation or ethnicity.

  • Attack someone through negative physical descriptions.

  • Call for self-injury or suicide of a specific person, or group of people.

  • Attack someone through derogatory terms related to sexual activity (for example: whore, slut).
